Stanford just released a 386-page report on the state of AI
“Until 2014, most significant machine learning models were released by academia. Since then, industry has taken over. In 2022, there were 32 significant industry-produced machine learning models compared to just three produced by academia. Building state-of-the-art AI systems increasingly requires large amounts of data, computer power, and money—resources that industry actors inherently possess in greater amounts compared to nonprofits and academia.” (Stanford)

“If Artemis II is successful, it will set up the biggest event in human spaceflight since the 1970s: Artemis III, a mission that will send astronauts to the lunar surface. That is currently scheduled for no earlier than December 2025, and NASA has not yet named the astronauts who will be aboard that flight. NASA has promised that mission would include the first woman to walk on the moon.” (New York Times)
